Intrusion Alarm Systems

Door, window and motion sensors with a siren and instant phone alerts, for offices, shops and warehouses.

Intrusion Alarm Systems

What we usually find on site

CCTV records, but it doesn't wake anyone when someone forces the back door at 2 a.m. You find out in the morning when staff open up, and the stock is already gone.

The system has a control panel, keypads to arm and disarm, sensors, and notification: siren, strobe, phone app, SMS or a monitoring centre.

Choosing sensors

  • Magnetic contacts on doors and windows
  • PIR for interior motion. In Laos we usually fit dual-tech (PIR + microwave): both have to agree before it alarms, so aircon draughts and sunlight don't set it off.
  • Pet-immune PIR where there are cats or rats. In warehouses, rats are one of the top causes of false alarms.
  • Glass-break and vibration for glass shopfronts and safes
  • Silent panic buttons for bank counters and gold shops

Designed to be hard to cut

Panels have battery backup and report over two paths, IP + 4G. Someone who means to get in will often cut the phone or internet line first. With only one path, the system goes quiet.

Zones and partitions let you arm areas separately: warehouse armed, office still working. Linking to CCTV lets whoever gets the alert check the picture first (video verification) before sending someone out. In buildings where the landlord won't allow drilling, current encrypted wireless systems do the job.

What it does

Full sensor range

Door, motion, glass-break and vibration.

Dual-path reporting

IP + 4G with battery backup.

Phone app

Arm, disarm and get alerts anywhere.

Zones and partitions

Each area controlled separately.

Video verification

Alarm goes off, that camera opens straight away.

Panic buttons

Silent alarms for counters and gold shops.

Design and rollout

  1. 1

Walk the building like an intruder would and find the likely ways in

  2. 2

Design zones; pick wired or wireless sensors

  3. 3

Fit panel, keypads, sensors and sirens

  4. 4

Set up reporting paths and the CCTV link

  5. 5

Walk-test every sensor and train users

FAQ

I have CCTV. Do I still need an alarm?

Yes. Cameras record; alarms tell you now. And a siren going off often sends an intruder running before they take anything. The two work best together.

Are wireless alarms reliable?

Current encrypted models with jamming detection are very reliable. The one thing to remember is changing sensor batteries on schedule; the panel warns you when they're low.

How do we stop false alarms?

Use dual-tech sensors, keep them away from aircon vents and sunlight, use pet-immune models where there are animals, set zones properly, and link CCTV so you can look before acting.
