Who it suits
Homes and mid-size buildings that want a three-phase hybrid inverter with a battery from the same brand.
Overview
Who GoodWe is
GoodWe is headquartered in Suzhou, China, and has been making inverters for about 15 years. Besides inverters it makes batteries, EV chargers and building materials with integrated solar. In Thailand it has an office in Bangkok and sells its full range of residential, hybrid and commercial products, including Rapid Shutdown devices for factory roofs.
Product families
- On-grid: single-phase DNS for homes, three-phase SDT G2 for larger homes and small buildings, SMT and MT for office and factory roofs.
- Hybrid: three-phase ET, the core model for homes and buildings, and single-phase EH. Both use high-voltage batteries.
- Batteries: Lynx Home stackable modules, in high-voltage and low-voltage versions. Lynx Home F pairs with ET and EH.
- Monitoring: SEMS Portal (and the newer SEMS+) shows yield, battery level and alarms, and lets technicians change settings remotely.
Who it suits in Laos
GoodWe suits homes and mid-size buildings with three-phase supply that want a hybrid and battery from the same brand. The benefit of one brand is that when the inverter and battery stop talking to each other, one party is responsible. For factories, SMT and MT inverters work well, but we always compare multi-site management with Sungrow and Huawei.
Standard warranty depends on model and country, and batteries usually have both a years limit and an energy-throughput limit. Read both. On heat: every inverter and battery derates or limits charging above the temperatures in its datasheet. Don't put a battery in a storeroom with no airflow; LiFePO4 lasts longest when it stays roughly at room temperature.
Strengths
- ET hybrids and Lynx Home batteries are the same brand, so claims and communication problems have a single responsible party.
- There is an office in Bangkok, and both residential and commercial ranges are sold in Thailand.
- Rapid Shutdown devices are available for factory roofs, cutting DC voltage on the roof in an emergency.
Things to know before choosing
- ET and EH hybrids use high-voltage batteries. If you already own a 48 V battery you need a different model or brand.
- Model ranges and warranties differ between countries. A model you see on an overseas website may not be sold in Thailand.
- Under warranty the usual remedy is a whole-unit swap. Sites that cannot stop need a fallback plan while the replacement comes from Thailand.
Using it in Laos
What to know before installing GoodWe in Laos:
- Evening brownouts: buildings that sag between 17:00 and 19:00 can use ET with Lynx Home and a separate backup panel for lighting, fridges, servers and routers.
- Heat: mount the inverter and battery in shade with airflow. A battery that runs too hot limits charging and ages faster.
- Lightning: fit SPDs on the DC and AC side, especially on isolated provincial buildings.
- Ordering: through distributors in Thailand. Residential models and batteries are usually in stock; commercial models may need ordering ahead.
It suits larger homes, offices, clinics and shops with three-phase supply. Technicians familiar with SEMS Portal can be found in Thailand. We repair and handle claims for GoodWe systems installed by others, and a SEMS screenshot on WhatsApp often lets us name the likely cause before we visit.
Compared with alternatives
Solis is at a similar price level but gives more freedom to pick another battery brand. For a 48 V battery hybrid with a generator input, Deye or Growatt fit better. For commercial systems and large battery cabinets, Sungrow has the fuller range.

FAQ
Can we add Lynx Home battery modules later?
Yes, up to the maximum number of modules that model supports. Don't wait too long, though: old and new modules with very different health can limit usable capacity. We check the model's rules first.
Our GoodWe inverter disappeared from SEMS Portal. What should we do?
Check from the status light or display that the inverter is still producing. Most often the Wi-Fi or router changed. We reconnect it and review any alarms that were missed.
Does a factory roof need Rapid Shutdown?
For roofs over flammable stock, or where firefighters may need access, we recommend it. It drops the DC voltage on the roof when the system is shut down. We list it as a separate line item in the quotation with the reasoning.
