Deye
China's Deye (Ningbo Deye Inverter Technology) is best known for 48 V low-voltage hybrid inverters with a generator input that can also run off-grid. It also makes string inverters, microinverters and its own batteries, monitored through Solarman or Deye Cloud.

Who it suits
Homes, farms and sites with frequent outages or no grid that need a 48 V battery hybrid with a backup generator.
Overview
Who Deye is
Deye is the inverter brand of Ningbo Deye Inverter Technology from Ningbo, China. Across Southeast Asia, Africa and many countries with unreliable power, Deye is best known for its 48 V low-voltage battery hybrid inverters. In Thailand it is sold through several distributors and solar equipment shops.
Product families
- Low-voltage hybrids (SUN-…-SG…LP): single- and three-phase, for 48 V batteries (40–60 V range), lithium or lead-acid. They have a generator input, handle unbalanced loads on three-phase models, and can run off-grid.
- High-voltage hybrids (SUN-…-SG…HP3): for buildings that need more power.
- AC coupling: the hybrids can be connected to an existing on-grid inverter to add a battery to an older system.
- Others: string inverters, microinverters, off-grid inverters, Deye's own batteries and commercial storage systems.
- Monitoring: the Solarman app and Deye Cloud show yield, battery level, grid import and export, and alarms.
Who it suits in Laos
For homes, shops, farms and sites with frequent outages or no grid at all, a Deye 48 V system is often the most economical and flexible route: add batteries one at a time, connect a generator, and parallel more units as the load grows. The trade-off is a long settings menu, and a wrongly configured system (charge current or cut-off voltage, for example) shortens battery life.
Standard warranty depends on the country. Deye's own terms give 5 years as the base in many regions and longer in some markets. Claims go through the distributor that sold the unit, so buy from a distributor that is still in business and keep the invoice.
Strengths
- 48 V hybrids have a generator input and can run off-grid, a good fit for sites with frequent outages or no grid.
- Several units can run in parallel and batteries can be added one at a time, so the system grows with the load without scrapping old equipment.
- It works with many 48 V battery brands on the approved list and can AC-couple with an existing on-grid inverter.
Things to know before choosing
- Warranty claims go through the distributor that sold the unit. If that distributor closes, claiming becomes much harder.
- The settings menu is very detailed. Wrong charge current, cut-off voltage or generator mode settings are the main causes we see on repair jobs.
- Units are sold online with unclear origin. Check that the serial number and model variant match the market of sale before paying.
- Fans and vents must be kept clean. Units working hard all day in a hot room often throw temperature codes and derate.
Using it in Laos
Deye is a brand we see a lot in small and mid-size hybrid and off-grid systems.
- Outages and brownouts: set the AC input voltage and frequency window to suit the local supply and generator, otherwise the unit keeps switching and lights in the building flicker.
- Heat: don't put the inverter and battery in a closed room without airflow. Add an extractor fan if needed.
- Dust: farm and rice-mill sites need the fans cleaned regularly.
- Ordering: through distributors in Thailand. Popular 48 V models are usually in stock.
It suits homes, farms, shops, schools and provincial health posts. Technicians who have worked with Deye are not hard to find. If your batteries run down unusually fast, send us photos of the settings screens to check.
Compared with alternatives
Growatt's SPF and SPH series are the direct comparison, and Growatt has its own service centre in Thailand. For a high-voltage hybrid where the whole system is one brand, Sungrow or GoodWe fit better. For a 48 V battery to pair with Deye, Pylontech is a common choice.

FAQ
Can Deye work with our existing lead-acid batteries?
The 48 V models support lead-acid, but the charge and cut-off voltages must match the battery. Lead-acid gives less usable capacity and a much shorter life than LiFePO4. Many sites keep the old batteries for now and switch to LiFePO4 when they wear out.
Our generator is connected but the Deye won't accept its power. Why?
Usually the generator's voltage or frequency is outside the configured window, or it is wired to the wrong port. Small generators with unstable frequency need a wider acceptance window. We can check and adjust remotely if the unit is online.
How long is the warranty on a Deye inverter?
It depends on the country and distributor; in many regions the base is 5 years. We write the warranty period and the distributor that handles claims into the quotation.
