IoT Environmental Monitoring

IoT sensors for temperature, humidity, water leaks, power and air quality, alerting instantly by SMS, LINE, Telegram or email.

IoT Environmental Monitoring

What we usually find on site

The server-room AC dies on Friday night and nobody knows until Monday morning. A vaccine fridge climbs above 8°C during a night-time power cut. Rainwater seeps into the basement electrical room. All of it is preventable if someone finds out within five minutes, not two days.

What can be measured

Sensor Example use
Temperature / humidity Server rooms, cold rooms, medicine and vaccine fridges (2–8°C)
Water leak Under AC units, raised floors, electrical rooms
Door / motion Racks, storerooms
Power / energy Current, voltage, consumption (kWh)
Air quality CO2 and PM2.5 in offices and schools

Pick the right technology for the site

  • Wired/PoE and SNMP: for server rooms (e.g. environmental monitors from UPS vendors)
  • LoRaWAN: long range and multi-year battery life for factories and large sites. Sensors and gateways are built for a specific band; for Laos that is usually the AS923 plan, which we confirm before ordering
  • Wi-Fi / 4G: for scattered points with no gateway nearby

Platform and alerting

Everything lands in one dashboard (e.g. Zabbix or a chosen IoT platform) with history graphs. Alerts escalate: the on-call person first, then the manager if nobody acknowledges within 15 minutes. They go out over the channels the team actually reads: SMS, LINE, Telegram or WhatsApp, as the platform supports. Don't set thresholds too tight. If phones buzz every ten minutes, people stop reading them.

Tell us how many points you want to watch and where, and we will recommend sensors and the right way to connect them.

What it does

Instant alerts

SMS, LINE, Telegram or email when thresholds are crossed.

Multi-step escalation

Escalates if nobody acknowledges.

History & reports

Historical graphs for audits such as medicine-fridge temperature logs.

Long-range LoRaWAN

Multi-year battery sensors covering large areas.

Energy monitoring

Sub-metering to find where energy is wasted.

UPS & cooling integration

UPS status via SNMP in the same dashboard.

Design and rollout

  1. 1

Identify risk points and the thresholds to watch.

  2. 2

Select sensors and connectivity (SNMP, LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi, 4G).

  3. 3

Install sensors, gateways and the platform.

  4. 4

Configure alert rules, escalation and channels.

  5. 5

Test each scenario for real (switch off the AC, wet the leak sensor) and train the response team.

Where it fits

  • Server rooms and branch network cabinets.
  • Hospitals and pharmacies monitoring medicine and vaccine fridges.
  • Cold storage and food processing plants.
  • Schools and offices tracking CO2 and PM2.5 during burning season (February–April).

Typical system sizes

FAQ

Will alerts work if the internet is down?

For critical sites, use a device with a GSM modem that sends SMS directly or a 4G backup path, and put it on UPS too. Otherwise the alerting dies first when the power does.

How long do wireless sensor batteries last?

Many LoRaWAN sensors last several years, depending on reporting interval and temperature. Sensors inside cold rooms drain faster.

Can it share our existing network monitoring?

Yes. SNMP- or MQTT-capable sensors can feed the Zabbix you already use for the network.
