Yeastar
China's Yeastar makes the P-Series IP-PBX as an appliance or in the cloud. Staff can make and take company calls in the Linkus mobile app, and TA gateways connect old analog handsets to the new system.

Overview
Who Yeastar is
Yeastar is a company from Xiamen, China, that builds IP phone systems (IP-PBX) for small and mid-sized businesses. Its current platform is P-Series. The older S-Series is discontinued: the S100 and S300 stopped selling in July 2022 and reach end of life in 2027, and the smaller models followed. If you still run an S-Series box, plan the move to P-Series.
Three ways to run P-Series
- Appliance Edition: a hardware box in your office. The P520 handles 20 users, up to the P570 with 500 users and 120 concurrent calls. The P560 and P570 take modules for analog extensions or trunk lines.
- Software Edition: installed on your own server or VM.
- Cloud Edition: Yeastar runs the server and you pay monthly or yearly.
All three share the same admin interface and features. Linkus is the mobile, desktop and web app that makes an extension ring on staff phones. In 2025 Linkus added sign-in with Google accounts and Apple CarPlay support. TA Series gateways connect old analog handsets or analog lines from the carrier to the IP system. Yeastar Central Management lets an administrator monitor and update PBXs at several sites from one place.
Sold by plan
P-Series features come in plans: Basic (included with the hardware), Standard, Enterprise and Ultimate, billed monthly or yearly for one to five years. Enterprise adds the call center and remote access. There are also add-ons such as the Hotel Management module and hotel PMS integration. Overall, Yeastar suits companies of 10-500 staff and mid-size hotels.
Strengths
- The web interface is simple. A general IT administrator can add extensions, build an IVR and set up ring groups after a short training.
- Linkus lets staff call out on the company number and answer their extension on a mobile when away from the office, without giving customers a personal number.
- Hotel add-ons cover check-in/check-out, wake-up calls and PMS integration, so a hotel does not need a specialised PBX.
- Appliance, Software and Cloud editions run the same system, so you can start with a box and move to the cloud later.
Things to know before choosing
- Many features are tied to a subscription plan. Ask the seller which features stop if the plan is not renewed, and put the expiry date in your calendar.
- S-Series is end-of-sale. If someone offers a cheap S-Series box, decline: it gets no new features and support is running out.
- Call quality depends on your internet link and SIP trunk provider. If the link is unstable, add a backup line and set QoS for voice.
- Yeastar's call center suits small and mid-size answering teams. A large contact center that needs full omnichannel may need a dedicated platform.
Using it in Laos
Yeastar comes through distributors in Thailand, and common models such as the P550 and P560 are usually in stock. Plans are bought and renewed online, so renewals involve no shipping.
What we see on sites:
- Brownouts: if the PBX and PoE switch have no UPS, every phone dies together when the power dips. Give both at least 30 minutes of UPS runtime.
- Old analog wiring: many hotels already have a phone pair to every room. A TA gateway or FXS module reuses it and avoids pulling new LAN cable.
- Internet: for the Cloud Edition, have two internet links from two providers. See our dual-ISP guide.
Good fits: hotels of 20-150 rooms, trading companies, private clinics and schools. IT technicians who can configure Yeastar are not hard to find.
Compared with alternatives
Grandstream UCM is the closest alternative: its core features work without a yearly plan, and it pairs well with Grandstream door intercoms. If you already run Microsoft 365 and want calls inside Teams, Microsoft Teams Phone may fit better. Yeastar wins when you want an easy mobile app and hotel modules.

FAQ
If we don't renew the plan, will the phones still work?
Appliances include a Basic Plan with basic calling. Features from higher plans, such as the call center, depend on an active subscription. Have the seller state in writing which features you would lose, and turn on auto-renewal if you pay yearly.
Can we use Yealink or Grandstream phones with Yeastar?
Yes. P-Series works with SIP phones from many brands and can auto-provision supported models. Check the supported model list before ordering in bulk.
Should we choose the Cloud Edition or an appliance?
With several branches and stable internet, the cloud removes hardware upkeep. If you need many analog lines or the internet drops often, an on-site appliance keeps internal calls working when the link is down.
