Who it suits
Data centers and plants that want cable, cabinets and cable management from one maker so the whole system is under one warranty.
Overview
Who Panduit is
Panduit is a US company headquartered in Tinley Park, Illinois. Many electricians know it for cable ties, wire markers and cable trunking, but in IT it is one of the most complete makers of structured cabling and server room hardware. In June 2025 Panduit sold its Atlona audio-visual product line to focus on network and electrical infrastructure.
Product lines
- Copper: TX6A (Cat6A) and Cat6 cable, with Mini-Com jacks and faceplates that are common in office buildings.
- Fiber: Opticom enclosures and panels, the high-density HD Flex system for data centers, and MPO assemblies. In 2026 it added very-small-form-factor SN connectivity for high-speed Fibre Channel.
- Cabinets: FlexFusion for cable-dense data centers and Net-Verse for general server and network use.
- PDUs: SmartZone G5 and the EL2P (launched in 2025), which meter power, monitor cabinet temperature and support 802.1X for network access.
- Industrial: Ethernet cabling rated for oil and vibration on factory floors, plus enclosures and grounding hardware.
Warranty
The Certification Plus System Warranty is a 15-, 20- or 25-year system warranty covering Panduit connectivity, and Panduit or approved third-party cable, installed by an installer registered in the programme and with every link tested and passed.
Who it suits
Data centers, bank server rooms and factories that want cable, cabinets, PDUs and cable management from one maker, so everything fits together and sits under one warranty. For a small office with a few dozen points and no need for warranty paperwork, a lower-cost brand is usually enough, as long as the cable is solid copper and every link is tested.
Strengths
- Everything from one maker: cable, jacks, panels, cabinets, PDUs, trunking, ties and labels. Dimensions and mounting points are designed to fit together, so nothing has to be modified on site.
- A system warranty of up to 25 years covering standards-based performance gives paperwork that building owners and parent-company auditors accept.
- Genuine industrial cabling and hardware that withstands oil, vibration and electrical noise, which ordinary office cabling brands do not offer.
- SmartZone G5 and EL2P PDUs meter power and temperature per cabinet, which helps you plan which rack can take another server and which is running hot.
Things to know before choosing
- Material costs clearly more than mainstream cabling brands, and the system warranty requires a registered installer and testing of every link, which adds labour.
- There are thousands of part numbers and they vary by region. One wrong code on the bill of materials can delay a job by weeks.
- Some cabinets and PDUs are order-only and not stocked in Thailand. Racks are bulky and heavy, so freight and border clearance time must be in the plan.
Using it in Laos
Panduit projects in Laos are mostly bank data centers, factories owned by foreign companies, and control rooms at mines and power plants, where the parent company's standard already names the brand.
What we commonly see on sites:
- Factories and mines: cable run next to motors and inverters picks up noise. Use shielded industrial cable, enclosures with a suitable IP rating, and proper grounding.
- Server rooms: tangled cable blocking airflow makes switches run hot. Plan vertical and horizontal cable management from the design stage.
- Labels: print labels on both ends of every cable using an agreed naming scheme. See our network rack and labeling guide.
Material comes through distributors in Thailand and the wider ASEAN region. Popular cable and jacks are in stock; for cabinets and made-to-length fiber, plan several weeks. If you want the system warranty, agree on it before work starts, not after installation.
Compared with alternatives
CommScope (SYSTIMAX) offers cabling and a 25-year warranty at the same level; choose it when the parent company specifies SYSTIMAX. Legrand covers both cabling and building electrical products, which suits jobs combining power and network. For small and mid-size offices that do not need a system warranty, LINK provides genuine copper cable delivered quickly from Thailand on a lower budget.

FAQ
Does every component have to be Panduit to get the warranty?
The connectivity (jacks, panels, patch cords) must be Panduit. The cable can be Panduit or from a manufacturer Panduit has approved. The installer must be registered in the programme and submit test results for every link. Check the current terms before design.
Can our factory use ordinary LAN cable?
In the factory offices, yes. On the production floor, with oil, vibration and large motors, ordinary cable cracks and picks up enough noise to drop links. Use industrial cable and IP-rated connectors there, and consider fiber for long runs or through high-noise areas.
Should we choose basic or intelligent PDUs?
With one or two racks and a UPS that already has a network card, a metered PDU showing current draw is enough. With many racks, or when you need to switch outlets remotely, for example to reset a hung device at a branch, a switched or intelligent PDU such as SmartZone G5 is worth it.
