CommScope
CommScope is an enterprise structured cabling brand, known for SYSTIMAX, NETCONNECT and Propel fiber panels. In January 2026 Amphenol completed its purchase of the CCS (cable and connectivity) business, and the CommScope name went with it. The former parent renamed itself Vistance Networks, so CommScope cabling and RUCKUS are no longer the same company.

Who it suits
Headquarters buildings and data centers whose owners want a long-term manufacturer cabling warranty, which requires installation and testing to programme rules.
Overview
CommScope today: an Amphenol brand
In structured cabling, CommScope has long been the name behind SYSTIMAX. What changed is the owner. On 9 January 2026 Amphenol (US) completed its purchase of CommScope's Connectivity and Cable Solutions (CCS) business, and the CommScope name went with it. The former parent renamed itself Vistance Networks and kept Ruckus (Wi-Fi and switching) until selling it to Belden in mid-2026. So CommScope cabling and Ruckus are no longer the same company.
Product lines
- SYSTIMAX is the premium line: GigaSPEED XL (Cat6) and GigaSPEED X10D (Cat6A) copper, LazrSPEED multimode and TeraSPEED singlemode fiber.
- NETCONNECT is the mid-range line for office buildings: Cat6 and Cat6A that still sit inside the manufacturer's warranty programme.
- Propel is the high-density fiber platform for data centers: panels, cassettes and MPO trunks that can be changed from the front of the rack.
- imVision is an automated infrastructure management (AIM) system that knows which patch cord connects which port to which.
The warranty programme
What makes customers choose SYSTIMAX is the 25-year system warranty: a product warranty plus Application Assurance, which guarantees the channel will support the applications its standard is specified for. The conditions: the system must be designed, installed and tested by an installer registered in the manufacturer's programme, every component in the channel must come from the same system, and test results for every link must be submitted for registration.
Who it suits
Head-office buildings, banks, hospitals and data centers whose owners expect to use the building for 15 to 25 years and want warranty paperwork from the manufacturer. For a rented office you may leave within five years, it is usually more than you need.
Strengths
- The 25-year system warranty with Application Assurance gives building owners and auditors a document to point to whenever cabling quality is questioned.
- Copper and fiber come from one system, so the fiber backbone between floors and the Cat6A runs to desks sit under the same warranty.
- Propel supports MPO and the move to 400G and beyond in a data center by swapping cassettes rather than pulling new trunks.
Things to know before choosing
- The 25-year warranty is strict: the installer must be registered in the programme, every component must come from the same system and full test results must be submitted. Mix in another brand's patch cords and coverage may not apply.
- The change of ownership to Amphenol may shift distribution channels, part numbers and paperwork during the first years. Check with the distributor which entity issues warranties registered today.
- Material and labour cost more than ordinary cabling, because every link has to be certified with a tester and fully documented. For a small office the extra may not be worth it.
Using it in Laos
SYSTIMAX projects in Laos are mostly head-office buildings in Vientiane, banks, and data center rooms where a parent company's standard names the brand. Material comes through distributors in Thailand and Singapore. Popular Cat6 and Cat6A cable is in stock, but cut-to-length MPO fiber trunks and Propel hardware are made to order and take several weeks.
What needs planning:
- Measure before ordering: a fiber trunk that is 2 metres short is useless and means waiting for another production run.
- Testing: you need a calibrated certifier and saved results for every link. Without them the warranty registration will not go through.
- Site conditions: hot cable trays under metal roofs and power cables run too close in parallel make Cat6A links fail testing. Keep separation distances to the standard.

Compared with alternatives
Panduit offers cabling and warranties at the same level, plus cabinets, PDUs and cable management from one maker, which suits a server room built from a single brand. LINK fits small and mid-size LAN and CCTV jobs that need genuine copper cable delivered quickly from Thailand without a system warranty programme. Choose CommScope when the owner or parent company specifies SYSTIMAX or wants a 25-year Application Assurance.

FAQ
After the Amphenol deal, are existing SYSTIMAX warranties still valid?
The whole CCS business, including the brands and programmes, moved to Amphenol, so registered warranties should travel with it. To be safe, keep the warranty certificate and registration number, and ask the distributor to confirm in writing.
Can we use another brand's patch cords on a SYSTIMAX system?
Technically it usually works, but that channel may fall outside the Application Assurance terms. If the warranty matters to you, use patch cords from the same system and keep some spares on hand.
Is Cat6 enough or do we need Cat6A?
For ordinary desks, Cat6 is enough. Cat6A pays off for runs to Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 access points with 2.5 to 10 Gbps uplinks and high-power PoE, and for buildings you will use beyond 15 years. Many buildings use Cat6A only for AP drops and Cat6 for desks.
