JimiIoT

JimiIoT (Shenzhen Jimi IoT Co., Ltd., Shenzhen, China) makes GPS trackers for vehicles and assets and JC-series 4G dashcams that record both the road and the driver. Earlier devices were sold under the Concox brand. Data goes to the company's own Tracksolid Pro platform or to compatible third-party fleet platforms.

Who it suits

Haulage and mining fleets of 10-500 vehicles that want location, speed, idling and driver video on one phone screen.

Overview

Who JimiIoT is

JimiIoT (Shenzhen Jimi IoT Co., Ltd.) is a company from Shenzhen, China, that makes GPS trackers for vehicles and assets and dashcams that stream video over 4G. Many people know its older devices as Concox, a brand of the same company. New devices are sold as JimiIoT, but many model codes still start with JM-.

The product families

  • VL Series vehicle trackers: such as the VL103M, which uses 4G LTE Cat 1 and falls back to 2G where there is no 4G. Wired to vehicle power, it reports location, speed and ignition on/off.
  • LL Series asset trackers: such as the LL303, with a solar panel, a 10,000 mAh battery and an IP67 housing, for machinery, generators and containers without vehicle power.
  • JC Series dashcams: the JC450 records 4-5 cameras at once (front, rear, sides and cab) and runs two AI functions: ADAS warns of a likely collision or lane departure, and DMS watches the driver for drowsiness and distraction such as phone use. The JC182 is a 4G camera for passenger cars.
  • Tracksolid Pro: JimiIoT's web and mobile platform, showing the map, trip history, speeding and geofence alerts, and live video from JC dashcams.

Who it suits

JimiIoT devices can also report to third-party fleet platforms that support their protocol, so you are not limited to Tracksolid Pro. JimiIoT suits haulage, mining and construction fleets of 10-500 vehicles that want location, speed, idling and driver behaviour on one screen. What matters more than the device is a tidy installation and alert rules that people actually act on.

Strengths

  • Vehicle trackers, battery asset trackers and AI dashcams all show up in one Tracksolid Pro account.
  • The JC450 with DMS alerts the driver in the cab when drowsy or on the phone and sends the event clip to a supervisor, which helps on long hauls.
  • The solar-assisted LL303 mounts on excavators, generators or containers without wiring and runs for long periods.
  • Devices can report to other fleet platforms if the company already has its own system or wants to keep the data itself.

Things to know before choosing

  • Tracksolid Pro data lives in the maker's cloud outside Laos. If your organization has a data policy, check it first or choose another platform.
  • 4G dashcams use a lot of data, especially for live view. Upload only event clips and choose a SIM plan that fits.
  • Devices come in regional variants with different LTE bands. Check that the variant you order supports the bands used by Lao mobile networks before ordering in bulk.
  • Ask clearly about per-vehicle platform fees and how long video is kept in the cloud, because yearly running costs often exceed the device cost.

Using it in Laos

JimiIoT devices are mostly ordered through distributors in Thailand or imported directly. Keep 5-10% spare units so you can swap a failed device at once instead of waiting on a claim.

What we see on sites:

  • Mobile coverage on the road: routes to mines and mountain areas have stretches with no 4G. Devices that fall back to 2G and buffer data until coverage returns matter here.
  • Cross-border trucks: vehicles running into Thailand, Vietnam or China need SIMs with data roaming, or you accept gaps in the record.
  • Dust, heat and vibration: on mine haul trucks, mount devices firmly, fuse the power feed and dress the wiring neatly. Loose wiring is one of the most common reasons a tracker goes offline.

Compared with alternatives

JimiIoT is the only GPS and dashcam brand on our list, so the real choice is between Tracksolid Pro and another fleet platform. For fixed CCTV at the depot or the yard gate, Hikvision or Dahua are the better fit and work alongside JimiIoT: fixed cameras in the yard, GPS and dashcams on the trucks.

FAQ

If a truck drives out of coverage, is the data lost?

Most trackers buffer positions in memory and send them when coverage returns. Dashcams record continuously to an SD card and upload event clips later. Check the buffer size and settings of the model you choose.

Can JimiIoT devices report to a platform other than Tracksolid Pro?

Yes, if that platform supports the JimiIoT/Concox protocol. GPS trackers are widely supported; video and AI events from JC dashcams may only work fully in Tracksolid Pro. Test before you commit.

How long does installation take per vehicle?

A GPS tracker alone usually takes under an hour. A multi-channel dashcam such as the JC450, with cameras wired around the truck, can take several hours per vehicle. Schedule installation when vehicles are parked so operations are not disrupted.
