Plenty of buildings have a fire panel that has shown a fault for months, has been silenced because of nuisance alarms, or has never been tested since installation. The standby batteries inside are often already dead. In a real fire, a few minutes' delay can cost lives.

In an 80-room hotel, a conventional system can only say "Floor 3", and staff have to open doors one by one. Addressable says "Room 305" straight away, and warns you which detector is getting dirty before it goes off at 2 a.m.

Designed to the standard and to the site

We design to the international standard specified for the project (e.g. NFPA 72 or EN 54 / BS 5839). Detectors follow the space:

Photoelectric smoke for general areas
Heat detectors for kitchens, car parks and dusty areas
Beam detectors for high-ceiling warehouses

In the rainy season, humidity and insects can set off smoke detectors on open walkways or in semi-open areas. Choosing the right type and position at the start costs less than fixing it later.

Integrated with other systems

The panel can recall lifts, release access-controlled doors, stop ventilation fans and trigger PA evacuation messages. For warehouses or stockpiles at risk, thermal cameras can spot hot spots early, as a supplement and never a replacement for the fire alarm.

常见问题

Why do we get so many false alarms?

Usually dirty detectors, the wrong detector type (smoke detectors in kitchens), humidity or insects, and degraded wiring. The fix is the right detector and maintenance, never switching the system off.

Can we upgrade from conventional to addressable?

Yes, though it usually means a new panel and detectors and possibly re-wiring into loops. We survey the existing cabling to reuse as much as we can.

How often should the system be tested?

It depends on the standard. BS 5839, for example, calls for a weekly call-point test (rotating through them) and servicing every six months, with every device tested at least once a year.
