Cambium Networks 老挝供货与安装
Cambium 的 PTP、PMP 450、ePMP 和 60 GHz cnWave 无线设备,可在无法铺光纤时连接相距数百米至数公里的楼宇和站点。2026 年其英国母公司进入破产管理,产品线分别出售给 Airspan(PMP 450、PTP、cnWave)和 Univastu(ePMP、Wi-Fi 及 cnMatrix 交换机)。已安装设备可继续使用;新项目需逐型号确认由谁提供保修和固件支持。

概述
Cambium in 2026: read this first
Cambium Networks is a US company known for long-distance radio links, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint, used between buildings, at mines and by internet service providers. In 2025 and 2026 it ran into serious financial trouble: its shares were delisted from Nasdaq in March 2026, and its UK parent company entered administration in September 2026. The product lines were then sold to two different buyers:
- Airspan bought the fixed wireless lines: PMP 450, PTP 670, PTP 700, cnWave (60 GHz) and cnReach, together with the LINKPlanner, cnHeat and cnMaestro software for those products.
- Univastu bought ePMP, the enterprise Wi-Fi and switching business (cnMatrix), and cnMaestro.
So the Cambium name is still on the hardware, but who stands behind firmware, warranty and RMA now depends on the product line.
What the products do
- PTP links connect two points hundreds of metres to several kilometres apart, for example an office and a camp, or a weighbridge.
- PMP 450 and ePMP serve many remote sites from one central point.
- cnWave uses 60 GHz for gigabit speeds over short distances, such as across a road or between buildings on a campus.
- cnMaestro manages and monitors all devices from one place, and LINKPlanner designs radio paths and works out mast heights.
Who it suits now
Cambium equipment already installed keeps working, and the radios do not need the cloud to pass traffic. For new projects, we recommend getting written confirmation of which company is responsible for warranty and firmware on the exact models you plan to buy.
优势
- Cambium PTP radios are built for outdoor mounting in rain and heat and can link sites several kilometres apart where running fiber is too costly or impossible.
- LINKPlanner models the radio path, mast height and expected throughput before you buy, which reduces the risk of a link that doesn't work once installed.
- The radios run without a cloud connection and can be configured from their own web interface, so installed links do not depend on the company's situation.
选型前须知
- Cambium went through insolvency in 2026 and its products were split between Airspan and Univastu. Warranty, firmware and roadmap for each line are less certain than for a stable brand.
- Before renewing support or buying more, ask the distributor which company now owns that model, where RMAs go, and whether the original warranty is still honoured.
- Both buyers received rights to cnMaestro under transition arrangements. Keep your own copy of every device configuration and don't let the cnMaestro cloud be the only place it lives.
- 60 GHz radios (cnWave) only cover short distances and weaken in heavy rain. Use them for runs of a few hundred metres and keep a backup path.
在老挝的使用
In Laos, Cambium radios are found at mines, factories and construction projects that need to link offices, camps and weighbridges several kilometres apart, and at some provincial internet providers. Equipment used to come through distributors in Thailand. After the 2026 sale of the business, check with the distributor whether stock and spare parts are still available.
What we see on sites:
- Lightning: the number one cause of dead radios. Every mast needs a proper earth and surge protection on the LAN cable at both the top and the bottom.
- Dust and wind: at mines, masts that shake when heavy trucks pass make the signal drop. Check mast fixings every season.
- Spares: given the company's situation, keep a pre-configured spare radio for your most important links.
- Long-term plan: for links you need for many more years, plan an alternative such as fiber or another radio brand.
与其他方案对比
Ubiquiti offers low-cost point-to-point radios that are easy to buy in the region, fine for links that are not mission-critical. MikroTik has inexpensive 60 GHz and 5 GHz radios for teams comfortable with RouterOS. For main links that must last many years, fiber installed with CommScope or Panduit components remains the most dependable choice. Choose Cambium when you already run it and want to keep using cnMaestro, or once the new owner has confirmed warranty cover for the models you need.

常见问题
Will our existing Cambium links stop working?
No. The radios run independently and don't need the cloud to pass traffic. What may change is new firmware, warranty handling and access to cnMaestro. Back up every device's configuration and record its passwords now.
Should we buy Cambium for a new project?
Yes, if the distributor confirms in writing which company warrants that model, for how long, and where RMAs go. If the answers are vague, we will propose an alternative for any critical link.
How far can a PTP link reach?
It depends on frequency, antennas and a clear path. A well-designed 5 GHz link can cover several kilometres, while 60 GHz reaches only a few hundred metres. The two ends need line of sight with the Fresnel zone clear of trees and hills, which is why we always survey and plan before buying hardware.
